The four Latin elementem, and sometimes a fifth one Aether in ancient Greece.
All represented by elementals "elementalis" or "elementum".
Here is the water elemental, a pure and powerful being only composed of aqua and not flesh.
There are many other forms of elementalis, like a volcano or a Leviathan and they all live beyond the known world: the Finis Terrae, to hide from civilizations and remain in peace.

This my first digital work, based on an old traditional drawing and entirely done with Gimp.
